I am intermittently getting the following message when I restart my computer "sorry this system does not support the required VRM9 renderer". When this happens I am not able to access GBPVR and the screen doesn't display correctly. In addition the computer usually hangs during the first reboot and needs to be reset again which usually solves the problem.

Rebooting the computer a few times or reinstalling the video driver seems to correct the problem until it occurs again.

I am using a Gigabyte Motherboard with NVIDIA on board graphics. I have been through the various posts on the forum regarding NVIDIA graphics chips and VRM9 and thought I had a solution but can't get rid of this problem.

Does any one have any suggestions as to where I should start? Do I need to get a new graphics card? and if so any suggestions?

Thanks

I used to get this error with my old pc whereby the (ATI 9600pro) graphics card had not initialised before gbpvr started up (from the startup folder). gbpvr would then start up ok if I then manually restarted it.

can you start gbpvr ok after clearing the "no VMR9 dialogue box" ? If so, you can probably delay the launch of gbpvr to workaround the problem by using gbpvrwake.exe and wake.cmd to start gbpvr rather than launching it from your startup folder. If not, then depending on when it is hanging during reboot, you have either a hardware or a driver problem and I am not sure if installing a new g.card will fix this.

Also, make sure you have the latest bios for your mobo.

No unfortunately once the error comes up I am unable to access GBPVR and the screen is corrupted but readable. A reboot and or reinstall of the video driver seems to fix it. I do have GBPVR in the start up menu but I think I will move it out and experiment with your suggested work around.

Many thanks I will post again if I can't solve it.
