The only possible difference can be the DirectShow filters used for PowerDVD versus GBPVR. I have a hunch that PowerDVD might be set to using overlay, and you probably have GBPVR using some flavor of VMR.

Other than that, of course, the big difference could be the decoder. Which decoder are you using in GBPVR?

when you look at the details in power dvd its not using overlay so its not that
i really dont know

ive gone back to my old setup now anyway

everytime a new version of something comes out i live in hope but as always the picture is still crap

by the way the ticker is smooth so are the credits but the panning shots are crap

I upgraded to 1.1.5 of gbpvr, and now I'm back to square one...

Previously starting with -fse switch started things on my dvi output (which I think is my secondary monitor), but things were looking *really* good. Starting without -fse swith made pvrx2 start on my VGA output, looking terrible. Real bad. Not just video, but the menus too.

In 1.1.5 both with and without -fse switch starts on VGA output. Looking terrible. If I go into config and change to "start on secondary monitor" both start on DVI output, but looking equally terrible. Sigh.

bugger
go into control panel and set hardware accel to single(under 3d settings) then switch the displays around if you dont get the desired result (from 1 to 2 if you get what i mean)

1.what version gbpvr are you using?
1.1.5

2.are you using pvrx2?
Yes, with VMR9 Custom renderer

3.what nvidia card you use ?
6150

4.what version driver are you using ?
91.93

5.what mpeg decoder do you use?
Microsoft Mpeg Decoder

6.are you panning shots smooth ?
Yes

Other decoders I've tested:
Intervideo nonCSS, Nero, Nvidia Purevideo

The PQ with the Mpeg decoder is miles better than the Purevideo. CPU usage is higher: 40%
I've tried EVR, although CPU usage is great (10%) PQ is poor.

I got a 6150, currently using a PowerDVD decoder. I get tearing except in FSE mode but have not yet fixed the resume problems, so currently putting up with the tearing.

Was interested that you say you are using a Microsoft decoder..? Didn't think there was one..? My understanding was that MS didn't want to pay a royalty so never did an MPEG-2 decoder.

So... please tell me more... How come you have a Microsoft decoder..? And given that you have the same video as me and no tearing, how can I get it..?

The Microsoft MPEG2 decoder comes with Vista MCE. I've never seen a separate way to download/install it.
