I have set comskip to edl, and also config set to use edl (though it might have already been configured that way...i.e. can't remember if i did or if it was already set). I am not getting edl files. I am trying to do it with the run during recording check box. Any ideas? If I look at running processes, comskip is not running. Here are my logs:

Comskip is working fine for me in 1.1.15. I do not record using the dvr-ms mux which I think was a problem for comskip in the past. According to this post http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...ostcount=8 it should work now if you have the right version and make the changes.

I am using the dvr-ms mux and had comskip working before with 1.0.16. But this is a new computer install, I did see that post and that is how I have comskip (and gbpvr) setup, i.e. for real time skipping. Maybe I need to back off of that and try without.

I think you are right.Afaik dvr-ms doesn't allow real-time comskipping.

The new Comskip build 111 does allow for real-time dvr-ms comskipping.
set
live_tv_retries=120
or higher if needed (try 200 or 300 if needed, does depend on the bit-rate you are using for recording.)
The value is the minimum amount of seconds needed to fill a 120MByte recording.

I have it set to 120, I will try higher, how high is too high?
I am recording ATSC, so I assume I have not control over bitrate?

Set it to 300, still not working during recording. Any ideas?

Low quality SD ATSC may require a value of 500 or even 600

Do set
verbose=11
and mail me the log file comskip generates if things still go wrong

If you see this in the log file
-unsupported packet header
-p_peek[0]&0x80 != 0x80
-undeclared stream[Id 0x0]
the live_tv_retries setting is too low

Hey Erik,

I set to 600 and verbose to 11, where is the log saved? Still does not seem to be running. Thanks
