Well, HDTV isn't what i'm trying to do, I still have a 27"CRT TV, and I definatly can't afford digital cable. my reasoning for HVR-1600 was that it was on sale at fry's for like $46, or something. and i figured this way i can upgrade at a later time. (I kind of feel like i would have enjoyed the pvr-500 more)

but I will check out that nVidia because i probably don't want to invest in a card that can't do HDTV if i upgrade later. and I have never really been all that happy with my all-in-wonder. (timeshift doesn't work at all on it as it advertised, using ati's program)

Thanks a lot sub, you provide excellent support for your program!! I'm going to have to go back and make a donation for your time, and now that i'm happy with gbpvr and wont be trying other things.

Don't know if this is the same as your problem, but here goes anyway.

I've always had problems with Live TV video losing synch with audio when watching in live preview mod (Hauppauge PVR150MCE) - the video gradually lags the audio by up to several seconds, over a period of minutes and this is accelerated if I repeatedly change channels. It resynchs if I go into timeshift mode (press pause), and no problems with recorded shows.

Over time, I've upgraded GBPVR, used different video cards (ATI and NVidia) and drivers, different codec combinations (Purevideo, Intervideo, Cyberlink, freeware), Hauppauge drivers, Quartz.dll etc. all to no avail. The rest of GBPVR video functionality (DVD, MPG, AVI etc) runs flawlessly and smoothly.

So I think it is something to do with either the MPEG feed coming off the Hauppauge card (but I'm at the limit of my technical understanding here!) or processor speed (but it only runs 5-15% for Live TV, and recorded video is smooth even at 70-100% load with other tasks running).

The only two solutions I have found are (1) don't use live preview or (2) set Deinterlacing to None in Misc tab of GBPVR config. I use (2) because I like live preview.

Godo luck.

GBPVR apparently isn't supposed to use a mux during live, non-shifted TV, but using the ATI mux fixed all my Live TV sync problems. But a week or two later it started seriously messing up the audio track(s) on recorded things, so now I'm back to Cyberlink and having clear audio but sometimes off-sync.
I bet Michael Bay uses GBPVR because it's awesome:

Thanks for this comment. My situation is different but I this helps me. I have a PVR150 and a Kworld110. Anything (OTA analog TV or Satellite via S-video) on the PVR150 is rock solid with audio sync. My Kworld (ATSC HD) has the same blips and audio sync issues unless I timeshift or am recording the show. I'll look at my muxes for the Kworld for a fix. Smile
