xDVD works fine on the MVP playing DVDs from the DVD drive, but I've been unable to get it to work with iso files stored on my hard drive that I'd like to playback through the MVP. Anyone know what needs to be setup in xDVD to get this working?
Regards,
Hasso

Now got this working. In my situation the ISO files were all stored on a separate drive (E), but the only drives showing on the xDVD screen were the C drive and the D drive (D being the DVD drive). So xDVD could not see the ISO files. Solved this by, instead of mapping this drive to a drive letter, mapping the drive to a folder created on the C drive. All my ISO files then became visible in the C drive and playable through xDVD.

Hasso

Can you share some tips on getting XDVD to install and work? I see mentions of fixes, but no pointers. What do I need to do once I run the installer? What files need to move where and what needs patching? I read something about VLC in server mode???

Just looking for a set of installation instructions.

Thanks,
Greg

I'll have a look tonight, but what exactly are your problems? From what I remember, I did the basic install, applied the database patch (the patch is somewhere in this forum), moved the xdvd files to the PVR plugin folder (into it's own xDVD folder), and it worked. VLC is in the default install directory (C:\Program Files\Videolan\vlc.exe I think... I made no changes to VLC settings at all)). "D" is the default drive letter for the DVD drive, which is correct for my machine. If your DVD drive is not "D", I don't know of a way to change it as the xml settings file does not seem to work with PVR.
Regards,
Hasso

I think I missed this step. I may have a problem with needing drive D as my DVD drive is Q and daemon drive is R.

I'll try again tonight, I didn't try too hard over the holidays Smile
