Success story + few questions

hi there,

first of all i wanted to say thanks for this cool software. I spend the last few days getting everything to work together and have the following specs:

* Asrock K7VT2 (socket a) board
* Athlon 1400 XP CPU
* 512mb DDR-Ram
* Creative geforce 3 ti500
* Hauppauge PVR-150 (non-mce)
* D-Link DWL-g510 NIC
* 80gb Maxtor HDD (just temporary)

* Windows XP MCE'05
* Hauppauge Drivers (4.0 CD) from hauppauge.co.uk
* "legacy" NVidia drivers for the gfx-card
* RaLink Drivers for the NIC
* Nvidia PureVideo Decoder
* TV-Movie Clickfinder (yes, germany)
* tvm2xml (to make the xml file)

There were a couple of problems related to channel order and epg output aswell as TV-out issues. all of them solved so far.

on to the questions...
how can i edit the main menu in pvrx2 ? i used "plugins" in the Config tab and disabled everything i didnt want, but f.e. "Exit" is still listed in the mainmenu. funny thing is that changes made here get through 100% if i use the gbpvr.exe. It would be nice to just be able to edit the main menu, tipps on that are appreciated.

also im looking into a way to modify the bios/cmos "wake on time" setting to have the computer soft-off and wakeup a few minutes before a recording, tipps are appreciated on this aswell !

Sorry, but you can remove the 'Exit' button at this stage. You should be able to in the next release.

in config.exe, under capture sources you can define how many minutes padding at the start and end of the show. I use 2 and 5 so the PC wakes out of standby and starts recording 2mins before the show is scheduled to start. Actually gbpvr might wake the pc up a min before the show starts anyway, I'm not sure.

Soft-off you define in windows power management. i.e. go into standby after x mins of idle. If a show is about to start, gbpvr will tell windows not to shut the pc down.

Yeah, GB-PVR schedules the wake up for one minute before the pre-padding was due to kick in.

okay, so if the exit menu-option is not removable i can live with that for now. i'd still like to know how i could code my own "plugin" which enables me to see system statistics like fan-speeds and temperatures. this data preferrably comes from Speedfan or something similar. which coding language is used, or better yet is there an easy way to "make a plugin" ?

Plugins can be written in C#, VB.NET or Managed C++. You can find some C# sample plugins here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=27703

I'd take a look at the HelloWorld plugin first.
