No not really.

I'm assuming its AC3 audio in this file. When I attempt to play an .mkv file on my machine with AC3 audio, it uses the Hauppauge HCW AC3 Audio Decoder which seems to work well for me.

You'd probably have to disable ffdshow audio to let another decoder have a chance to decode the audio.

Something odd now...

I went into the playback tab on configuration and it was NVIDEO, so why would graphedit say it's fddshow ?

I did change it to another NVIDEO (not sure why there are 2) and that has cleared up the audio for this file.

Is that the "Use FDDSHOW post-processing if installed" option ?

GB-PVR's playback tab only lets you specify the decoders used for playing .mpg files. All other types of files just use whatever the system default decoders for that file type are. You'd have to change the defaults outside of GB-PVR - whether than means uninstalling decoders you dont want, or installing new ones.

No. I'm not talking about a GB-PVR setting. Its a setting somewhere inside ffdshow's own configuration which specifies what directshow applications it is used in. You can typically either disable it entirely from there, or tell it not to be used in PVRX2.exe.

I understand what you are saying but I don't understand how that is so. Since the audio cleared up when I changed the "Audio Renderer" option on the playback tab.

oh btw, is there a directshow configuration tool then ?
