More questions from a newb just getting familiar with GBPVR.

I've downloaded v1.1.5, configured it and gave it a run on my host PC.

I only selected the plugins that I was planning on using at the moment, namely, having access to my picture library, MP3 library and Net Radio. (no capture card yet so recording TV will be a next step).

I also downloaded and inststalled the UBUStream plugin, and from reading the Wiki, I went to ShoutCast, rightclicked on a station and saved the target in the NetRadio directory. I don't really see how this is going to work however, since EVERY shoutcast station done in this way saves as the same "shoutcast-playlist.pls".

When I fired up GBPVR I don't see Net Radio in the menu. Also tried it with PVRX2 with the same result.

As I understand it PVRX2 is the new version, so I was expecting to see Net Radio in the menu, but didn't.

What do I need to do in order to use Net Radio?

You dont need UBUStream to use net radio.

Assuming its enabled in the config app, then you should be able to see it. You may need to switch back to the Blue skin if you're not already using it.

You may want to make sure you leave more buttons enabled on the main menu. It doenst like having less than six items.

One thing I have noticed. If a Plugin, even the default Net Radio, is below Exit on the Plugin Menu, it doesn't show up on the screen.

You may be right on the location of the menu item with respect to Exit. I'll have to look at that.

Well, that didn't work. Right now, the only plugins I have selected are Recordings, Music Library, Video Library, Net Radio, System and Exit.

When I bring up they appear (in order) as System, Exit, Recordings, Music Library, and Video Library. Net Radio still does not appear.

I tried experimenting and I took more items off the menu so that only Net Radio and Exit were left. When I started PVRX2, there was nothing on the menu at all.

Checking the "plugins enabled" box or unchecking does not appear to affect the result either way.

Something's not working correctly, I'm just not sure what it is.

Replace your <MenuLayout> section of your config.xml with this default section. After this all the buttons should be present on your main menu. Also delete the contents of your 'plugins' directory in case its getting in the way somehow.

Code:
<MenuLayout>
    <Task enabled="true">TV Guide</Task>
    <Task enabled="true">Recordings</Task>
    <Task enabled="true">Search Guide</Task>
    <Task enabled="true">Live TV</Task>
    <Task enabled="true">Music Library</Task>
    <Task enabled="true">Video Library</Task>
    <Task enabled="true">Photo Library</Task>
    <Task enabled="true">DVD</Task>
    <Task enabled="true">FM Radio</Task>
    <Task enabled="true">Net Radio</Task>
    <Task enabled="true">Settings</Task>
    <Task enabled="true">System</Task>
    <Task enabled="true">Exit</Task>
  </MenuLayout>

Got it to work just fine in GBPVR. No luck with PVRX2, but to be honest, I like the GUI on GBPVR better anyway.

Now I see not only the shoutcast stations that I saved but all of the other favourites by genre - this is cool!!

Thanks!

Well, that's good.........and no offense, but let's get PVRX2 working first before you pull it from the release... . Wink

I've tried everything I know to get NetRadio to appear on the PVRX2 menu, but still no dice.

Works just fine in the old version though. Big Grin

Sorry, but this project works to my timeline not yours Big Grin (two or three poeple having a problem with something in the new UI isnt going to make me go through the hassle of having the old UI hanging around)

That said, if you're sure you've got the <MenuLayout> as specified above, then start PVRX2.exe, then zip and attach the PVRX2.exe.log and I'll take a look.
