I have a vcr connected to my computer using a scart with an s video cable going into my vidoe card and an audio cable going into my sound card. Its set as ouput and I can hear the audio through my speakers, but I was just wondering if there is a way I can capture the video using gbpvr to get it onto my computer

Thanks in advance Smile

What extactly is the svideo cable connected to? Is it the svideo connector on a supported capture device, like a PVR150 etc? or have you connected it to the svideo output on a video card?

Then no, its not going to be able to capture svideo. That is an output device, not an input device.

No. Its physically a hardware output device, so no software is going to capture video from it.

you need to buy a capture device with svideo-in a hauppauge pvr150 or the like
if you choose to get a cheaper one then make sure it has mpeg hardware encoding and that it is on the list on the wiki of the cards that will work (i dont think there is such a thing as a cheaper one as it will probably not work and then it would be a waste of money)

I have an old Avermedia DVB-T card which doesn't work under gb-pvr (no bda drivers) but it does have svideo input. I run it under the Avermedia supplied software to capture stuff from VCR and save as mpeg, which can then be played via gb-pvr.
