Daily Transcode + Cut Commercials?

So my HTPC isn't exactly blazingly fast anymore and it is particularly noticeable when VideoRedoPlus is cutting out the commercials.

Here is what I would like to do if it possible:

Run comskip after the show (now we have the cut points, minimal performance impact)
Run AddRecording (gets renamed, etc..)

Then at 1AM or whenever the files are converted to DivX, run VideoRedoPlus before they are transcoded. This would help my poor PC tremendously!!!

Anyone know if this is possible? I'm currently running the videoredoplus step right before the AddEpisode in my postprocessing.bat file.

Is there some batch file that is run before a file is transcoded?

I do something very similar to what you want to do. I basically have my post processing.bat doing what you say. run comskip and output .vprj files.

Then I have a 1 line batch file which consists of a For statement that recourses through myrecordings directory looking for .vprj files. It calls another batch file that runs the cscript for videoredo on any file it finds.

I have to use a cheat sheet everytime I write a batch file but it's something like:
FOR /R *.vprj IN /recordings Do processing

You could run this as a scheduled task every night. I am at work now but I will post up all the details tomorrow morning.

Tre, I just posted my semi automatic method for cutting commercials here.

You could easily modify this to have the last batch file with a transcoding line added run at a scheduled time so that all the cutting etc. would be done at 1 am.
