Hi there!

I am new to GB-PVR, having installed it a couple of months ago on a fresh Win XP system (see signature) and been running it more or less out-of-the-box since. Thank you for the amazing software, it works great!

I havem though, one major problem - it does not transcode any of my recording to MPEG2, which I specified in the setup, neither does it transcode manually when selecting it in the menu.

I do not know how to fix it or even where to look for the error... any help?

Please find attached the log files. I will be happy to post any additional data necessary if you tell me how.

The logging level was set to 'error', so there is no useful info in the logs.

Was the original file types .ts? If so, this is known to be broken in the current release. I'll fix this for the next release.

Hi Sub,

thank you for the quick reply. How do I change error level to gain usefull data?

And yes, it was .ts. Is there a way to change this while receiving DVB-T SDTV?

And last, when do you plan the next release?

Again, thank you very much for your help!

Its on the first tab of the config app. The default is 'debug', but you've changed it to 'error'.

If you have the Cyberlink mux on your machine, you can set that as the multiplexer, and it'll produce .mpg files instead. Alternatively you can keep recording .ts files, and roll your own conversion using a custom PostRecording.bat file.

We're testing and bug fixing at the moment, but its a big release so still a few weeks away.

Hi Sub

Strangely, my logging was set to "debug"...

Regarding the mux - I have Cyberlink PowerDVD installed, but in the Misc 2-tab I only see Microsoft, TS Mux, MainConcept und Full MS, but no Cyberlink... Which one should I choose? Or must I install anything else?

Thank you for the ultra fast replies!

PowerDVD does not include the Cyberlink mux. Other Cyberlink products like PowerCinema do.

Thanx! I've installed the new mux and it records in mepg2 - that solves my problems for the future.

But how do I transcode all my previous .ts recordings in an easy way to mpeg2 in order to be able to burn them to dvds (skipping commercials)? I would hate having to do it manually...

Oh, by the way (and off-topic): I see you're from Wellington! I've been to your beautiful city and country in 2004 and I really loved it!

There is nothing built into GB-PVR that'll do automatically for you. You'd need to look for some other utility to do it.

Cheers - I like it too. I've visited many cities around the world, and Wellington is the one I'd most like to live in.

Thank you anyway - I just thought you might have a batch solution :-)

Anyhow, I am happy for the future and am currently playing with VLC to transcode some files manually... We will see whether the Atom is up to it *g*
