Hi,

If I'm understanding this correctly, in the Config > Capture Sources, the first tuner listed is the view/live TV tuner and the second is the primary recording tuner. I have a HVR-1600 so I've set the QAM tuner first, and the analog second.

Up to recently, this has worked very well for me as I preferred to watch in HD, but record to analog and postprocess the files for my mobile device (mostly because it was faster than dealing with the ms-dvr files).

Now, however I've added a HTPC to the mix running Vista Media Center. I'd love the ability to decide which tuners get used for certain shows so I can watch the transferred HD in my family room, but still record select others in analog mpeg/SD for easy and automated post-processing.

For example, I want to record Survivor in HD, but American Dad in SD, which do not conflict time-wise.

I'm using guide data from Vista Media Center using the MCE2XML application. Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks!

Replies welcome, but I've read a few posts since (I think my initial search had a typo -- sorry) and I see now that this is something that Sub is not willing to do ATM. Apologies for the redundant request.

your analog channels should not be mapped on the digital tuner for HD. See http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post247004

You should then be able to set the recording of a specific show on the analog tuner. The digital tuner will then be available for Live TV.

Ahh. It would seem I have a bit of work to do. As I mentioned, I'm using MCE2XML and as such set up for only an analog lineup, and then mapped the equivalent QAM channels in GB-PVR. I will need to create a new lineup, but as MCE does not support a QAM tuner, I'm not sure if I can pull it off, unless I can mimic it with OTA signals.

We'll see. Thanks for the tip!

Change your MCE lineup to a digital cable lineup and you should have most analog and digital stations. I wrote the MCE2XML program and that is how I used it (I now use Schedules Direct).
