This has been an on going battle for me. I am recording OTA HD using an hvr-1600. Playback of the recorded files using either GBPVR or MCE has video and audio sync problems. Even the playing of mpegs recorded using a Hauppauge 250 (I think that is the card) has the sync problems. But if I play the mpegs or dvr-ms files using Media Center, there is no sync problems.

I replaced the quartz.dll with an older version, as per some threads, and I thought that solved the problem. But I guess that it just lessened a sever prior problem.

I have read some posts that indicate that the playback is just handed over to Windows. Well, how can I get Windows to use the same playback mechanism for GBPVR as is used for Media Player?

I monitored my CPU utilization during playback, and we are looking at a utilization of only 25%.

sounds like it may be audio renderer or decoder...
make sure all decoders are set explicitly...eg. not set to 'system default'
and the renderer,i like 'default directsound device'
also maybe try changing audio decoder to something different..
Hardware: HDHR Prime, HDPVR 1212, Raspberry pi2, VFD display w/LCDSmartie

Ouch. Since my recordings on another GBPVR system did not have this problem and it was running XP Pro, I thought that maybe it was a Windows MCE problem. So I spent the day installing a new system using XP Home. Half way thru the install, I saw your post. I setup the new XP Home system based upon your suggestions, set the renderer to something other than the default and there was no problem. So then I restored my MCE system, made that one config change and it is working as well. Hopefully, other will not have to spend as much time as I did.

Thanks
Warren
