I have just done a virus scan and PVRUiPublic.dll has been indicated as a suspect file. Is this yours and is there anything I can do to check it further?

It is a gbpvr file allright. Mine is 90112 bytes and labeled: 10-11-2007 13.55.
If you want you can send me a copy and I'll do a comparison. Hans

I get an md5 checksum of
Quote:MD5sums 1.2 freeware for Win9x/ME/NT/2000/XP+ You could also try it on one of the online, multiscan checkers like http://virusscan.jotti.org/

Funny??
I get this md5sum for the pvruipublic.dll: d3f25141618542988ed0c0a120a1ae31 *PVRUiPublic.dll Hans

I get the same md5sum as you HtV.
martin123 unless you are running a version other than 1.1.5 does that mean you may have a virus?
2008-01-04, 11:06 AM
I'm on 1.1.5 I can't remember that there was a patch for that file at any time.
Size 88.0 KB (90,112 bytes) Created 10 November 2007, 13:55:20 version 1.0.0.0 I don't have a tool to peer into .msi files, so not easy to extract it again. md5 is the same on all three PC's here, server and two clients. Odd.
2008-01-04, 07:59 PM
mine is the same as martins as far as size goes
but my md5 sum is the same as the other 2 maybe we should start a poll

You can open .msi files with winrar, perhaps more programs like that can do it.

I forgot about winrar, it's not one of the associations installed by default.
The MSI file has the same md5 as yours. Now a search to see if there's a patch been issued.

Mine is Nov 14
with this md5sum 5a333879d59b3a5fc4e53a540bc1e6cf *PVRUiPublic.dll 7zip opens msi's too. Martin |
