I have just done a virus scan and PVRUiPublic.dll has been indicated as a suspect file. Is this yours and is there anything I can do to check it further?

It is a gbpvr file allright. Mine is 90112 bytes and labeled: 10-11-2007 13.55.

If you want you can send me a copy and I'll do a comparison.

I get an md5 checksum of
Quote:MD5sums 1.2 freeware for Win9x/ME/NT/2000/XP+
Copyright © 2001-2005 Jem Berkes - http://www.pc-tools.net/
Type C:\Documents and Settings\martin\Desktop\md5sums.exe -h for help

[Path] / filename MD5 sum
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[E:\Program Files\devnz\Copy of gbpvr\]
PVRUiPublic.dll 9900eb2a63ac4b0d045404e24cc8b41e

You could also try it on one of the online, multiscan checkers like http://virusscan.jotti.org/

I get the same md5sum as you HtV.

martin123 unless you are running a version other than 1.1.5 does that mean you may have a virus?

I'm on 1.1.5 I can't remember that there was a patch for that file at any time.

Size 88.0 KB (90,112 bytes)
Created 10 November 2007, 13:55:20
version 1.0.0.0

I don't have a tool to peer into .msi files, so not easy to extract it again.
md5 is the same on all three PC's here, server and two clients. Odd.

You can open .msi files with winrar, perhaps more programs like that can do it.

I forgot about winrar, it's not one of the associations installed by default.
The MSI file has the same md5 as yours. Now a search to see if there's a patch been issued.

Mine is Nov 14

with this md5sum

5a333879d59b3a5fc4e53a540bc1e6cf *PVRUiPublic.dll

7zip opens msi's too.
