I installed Vista on my HTPC (specs in signature) and I am using EVR which appears to have resolved my stutter issues I had in XP (I tried everything possible to get rid of them with no luck). One problem I am having in Vista is pressing the Menu button while watching live TV. With VMR9 I would get Live TV in a window on the left side and the menu on the right. In EVR I see a flicker (with the menu appearing on the right) and the it goes right back to fullscreen live TV. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks in advance.

I'd forgotten to disable the ability to press the menu button while watching video with EVR. I've made sure this is done for the next release. You'll just need to avoid doing it until then.

The reason this feature is not available with EVR is because it is not possible to mix the Direct3D menus with the EVR video. If you need this feature you'd have to stick with VMR9 Custom/FSE.

Not a big deal if this feature is not available. I was just wondering why the screen was behaving the way it was.

One other thing I noticed. With EVR if I schedule a recording and go to the Options to change a value, namely the Quality, I have to move up or down for the change to appear on the screen. For example, if it is set to Medium and I click the Right button it still says Medium until I move down to the Pre-Padding row. I'm not sure if this only occurs in this screen but this is the only placed I have noticed it so far.

Thanks again Sub.

It'll probably be about 6 weeks away.
