I just got a 2nd HVR1600 to put on the roof antenna.
during the scan I only get 3 channels, when I know there should be more than a dozen.
my TV can pick up many more.

it found channel 26,39,and 55.
there should be more at 2,8,11,13,14,20,and 22
(I am leaving out the decimals)

what can I do??

Does the Hauppauge WinTV software find these channels?

I'm not sure what to do with winTV.
I told it to scan for channels, and it found nothing on either card.
the display just said "scanning for digital channels" for a very long time.
I cancelled the scan on day 4.

GB-PVR is usually pretty good at finding channels that are locked by the tuner, so without any other software turning up more channels I have to assume that this is the only signals your HVR1600 is locking onto with sufficiant signal strength.

If your TV's tuner is finding more channels, then it might have a higher quality tuner and be better coping with marginal signals. Did all those channels view smoothly on your tv?

they all look good on the TV.

this weekend I will see about getting a signal amplifier for the antenna, and see if it helps.

Using digital antenna signal, all my channels were coming in fine. I then moved my PC five feet to the right and two feet down, (from a desk over here to a floor over there), and I lost half the channels. The antenna is in the attic, so all that got moved was the PC and five feet of the 50' coaxial cable. I then adjusted the antenna and got them all back.

So, yeah, antenna signals can be picky sometimes.

You say it's your 2nd 1600. Is your first connected to satellite or cable or something?
I bet Michael Bay uses GBPVR because it's awesome:

okay, this is odd.
I just did a rescan of the 1600 connected to cable, and it found nothing.
2 days ago it found over a hundred.

very odd.

no time now, but tommorrow I will rescan, and post logs.
is there a certian log file I should post??
or just the whole folder??
