For me, if TUNING_SPECIAL=3 was set, it would lock up on the first channel that had QAM in it, but with 2 it was working fine. I suppose it might depend on a particular cable setup... At least for me it found more channels than Pinnacle's software would...

Just curious. What is the date on your driver?

That's the one I'm using but it's not working for me in GB-PVR. I may try on my XP machine.

I see. I was using it on XP, so may be Vista drivers are even more raw...

Now I wonder, can this be used as an analog tuner as well? There's nothing in Direct.INI about it and I don't know what all the setting mean

I have been unable to get it to work as an analog tuner. I do not believe it has a hardware encoder.

I see... Pinnacle says that it is MCE certified or something like that, so masy be it would work with one of the encoding plugins?... I don't know enough about GB-PVR yet

I'm sure it would work with the software encoder plugin. I won't work natively with GB-PVR because the output pin of the encoder filter does not send a mpeg stream and therefore will not connect to the mpeg2 demux filter.

I see. Thanks... Hopefully I can find QAM equivalents to all of unencrypted analog channels anyway... It's such a pain to try to find out what channel is showing in that tiny preview window...
