Hi,

I have Cyberlink Playmovie 1.5 which is a plugin for Vista MCE.
It has hardware acceleration for ATI and NVIDIA, Mpeg2 decoder, BD Decoder and HD-DVD decoder.

When checker via XP Decoder Checkup tool it presents itself as a CyberLink Video/SP Decoder.

When looking through the list o Mpeg-2 decoder in Playback and DVD its not listed.

I will send to "sub" mailbox directly the info regarding this plugin as its great! Great features and allows Blu-Ray and HD-DVD within the same decoder pack.

Have posted o the support forum as well as maybe someone has already got GB-PVR working with Cyberlink Playmovie.

"sub" please check your Private messages for info.

Look forward to peoples thoughts.

Cheers

Couple of things:

1) the Cyberlink decoder should show up in the playback list. See the attached image.

2) That is not the decoder that is used for BD/HD DVD playback.

Hi,

I understand that it should appear in the list... But it doesn't!

It appears in when I lookup using the WinXP Decoder Checkup!

When doesn't it appear or allow me to pick it?

Has anyone installed and used the Playmovie Plugin?

Will send a screen shot tormorrow.

Cheers

The XP decoder checkup will report the decoder that is being used by Media Center for MPEG-2 playback. HD DVD and BD movies are not using the decoder listed by the XP decoder checkup. The Play Movie "plugin" basically launches PowerDVD skinned to look like the movie is being played in Media Center but it is actually not. Arcsoft has a similar feature included with their TotalMedia package. You can configure GB-PVR to launch an external app.

I'm not sure why the decoder is not showing in your list for GB-PVR though. You can check your config.xml to make sure it's listed there.

Is there a way to specify what decoder is used for x264 playback in gbpvr?
My HD 264 files use hardware accelleration using windows media player classic, when I set the external filter to CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (PDVD7.x) but I have no idea how to set it up for gbpvr. Does it have to be set in windows media player 11?

GB-PVR will use the filter with the highest priority in that case. I believe Radlight Filter Manager will let you adjust filter priorities. You can Google it.

I also see this in the config.xml if it is used

Code:
<SupportedH264Decoders>CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (PDVD7.x),CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (AzureWave),ffdshow Video Decoder,CoreAVC Video Decoder</SupportedH264Decoders>
  <SupportedH264AudioDecoders>AC3Filter,CyberLink Audio Decoder(TwinHan),CyberLink Audio Decoder (PDVD7),InterVideo Audio Decoder,NVIDIA Audio Decoder,ffdshow Audio Decoder</SupportedH264AudioDecoders>
  <PreferredH264VideoDecoder>CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (PDVD7.x)</PreferredH264VideoDecoder>
  <PreferredH264AudioDecoder>none</PreferredH264AudioDecoder>

Hmm... I'm not sure what I did, but now mkv and h264 files instantly crash gbpvr. But I think that the Radlight filter manager helped, now the videos play in wmp as well as windows media player classic...

You may want to try the config.xml entries that dark_half mentioned. I forgot they were there since I don't have any h264 content.

I've had great success with the new WMP-HC 1.1 codecs for 264 playback. But I can't get them to show up in the GBPVR config menu (with the latest version).
Do I need to edit the config.xml?
