Hi,

Music Library 2 is a great addition to GBPVR .

Does it support m4a files ? ( Produced by ITunes with AAC encoder )
Can anyone tell me what I have to do to get them included in Music Library 2  ?

These are the steps I took as adivised in the Wiki to no avail :
1. Taglib libraries - Installed taglib-sharp.dll and polict.2.0.tagglib-shrp.config and policy.2.0.taglib-sharp.dll .
2. Placed in PlugIns/MusicLibrary2 .
3. Nuked library and Rescanned.

Version 6.7 Tag Readers

As of version 6.7 external tag readers have been introduced. There are two to choose from

UltraID3Lib - this is a very good, MP3 only tag reader. It supports album art within mp3 files and can be downloaded from http://home.fuse.net/honnert/hundred/ Tablib-sharp - this library handles almost anything you can throw at it, and also handles embedded album art. Available from http://www.taglib-sharp.com/Main_Page.

Both of these libraries are placed in the gbpvr\plugins\MusicLibrary2 directory.

you, may, I can't remember the defaults have to go into the config.xml file look for the PluginSettings\MusicLibrary settings and look for the allowed extentions.

You can see (but not edit) these values by running the congifuration app and it's shown as part of the ML2 configuration.

If that lists m4a then do a scan, and provide me with the log files. And if I can see somthing not being read, I'll get you to send me an example file. Since my only testing has been with one m4a file sent by a user (not a ipod user here).

I am having the same issues with musiclibrary2 not reading .m4a files. The extension is in the config.xml program. I just did a library scan and only picked up the .mp3 files. Attached are the logs. Any help would be awesome. I am really looking forward to using this plugin if I can get it to read .m4a. Thanks!

Looks like you only have the WMP (windows media player reader).

To M4A files you'll need to get the taglib-sharp library. It's shown on the Beta page: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...ostcount=1

Add that in, then give it another scan....

Ok, I had the taglib-sharp 2.0.3 before and it didn't work. Thinking there was a version conflict, I downloaded the 2.0.2 and placed it in both the plugin and musiclibrary2 directory. I nuked the library and rescanned with no change. It still does not recognize my .m4a files. Logs attached...

Strange, i can see if reading from ultraID3. If taglibsharp with ultraid3 - i.e. in the same directory?

Looks like it see's it but is not loading it.

You could try putting it in a Plugins\Common directory. I use 2.0.2.10 of taglib-sharp.

Moving taglib-sharp to the Plugins/common directory works great. Thanks for the help and a great plugin!

hmm, should not have to be in there, but at least we got around your problem... It should work from the Plugins\Musiclibrary2 directory.

Hi there - I'm having trouble seeing M4a files too - can you explain to a newbee what *exactly* is required as regards the tag-sharp download (including version)? I'm confused by the above reference to "install". ML2 seems to be working fine otherwise.

cheers
