This is probably a stupid question but i have a problem reading my music files.

I have GBpvr 1.1.5 and the latest ML2 Install which is working (after a little problem with the skin).

I have sorted and retagged (ID3) all my files using Tag and Rename.

Having done this mammoth task ML2 will Only see a few files from my directory. All are in folders, but the folder structure gave no problem in the past. (working in earlier version of GBPVR and ML2).

I see in the wiki that an external tag reader is required. I have downloaded UltraID3Lib but dont know how to make ML2 address it?? I have a feeling this is my problem. Help please!!

you should be able to just dump the ultraid3lib.dll file in the same directory as interfaces.dll - will be either devnz\gbpvr\plugins\common or devnz\gbpvr\plugins\musiclibrary2.

Then next time your start pvrx2, ML2 should see the new library and use it

Ok Checked that - the files are in the correct places. I have tried loading the library from Config, and also from running ML2 with the same results. I get only 870 music files out of about 30,000. Strangely Music player (GBPVR native) sees all my music ok.

Could there be a problem with the file structure??

I have all music albums in individual folders in E/Music files. I have set the music folder in Config to this (and music player sees them) and also in settings for ML2. Is there a limitation on folder names?? It is strange that it can see some files but not all. I would be grateful for suggestions.

Happy New Year

No the whole point of ML2 is that it's doesn't really care about the directory structure.

Post the pvrx2.exe.logs and config.exe.logs ....later on I may need you to turn on ML2 internal logging and insane logging (an option found in the config)....then run a scan, this should list all the files for me.

i think you might have to set those two options mentioned in the post above, and enter musiclibrary2 (or use the config app) and scan the directories again.

In those logs previously supplied I can see the plugin loading, but I cannot see you doing anything with it.

may have hit on something here.

Code:
2009-01-01 17:48:47.096    ERROR    [1]    Method not found: 'HundredMilesSoftware.UltraID3Lib.ID3v23Tag HundredMilesSoftware.UltraID3Lib.UltraID3.get_ID3v23Tag()'.
2009-01-01 17:48:47.096    ERROR    [1]    MusicLibrary2: ReadDirectory: Method not found: 'HundredMilesSoftware.UltraID3Lib.ID3v23Tag HundredMilesSoftware.UltraID3Lib.UltraID3.get_ID3v23Tag()'.

Can you go find you ultraid3lib.dll and right click and get it's properties, mostly its version. I wonder if you've got a newer, or older one than I have.
