Check signal strength

I thought I remembered seeing something in a previous post about a way to check signal strength on a tv channel by pressing a combination of keys while watching the channel on my pc with gbpvr. Does this sound familiar to anyone? If so what is the key combo?

Just been to try it out. Control "O"

Only for digital channels and only with old GBPVR interface, seems to be one of the things not (yet?) included with the PVRX2 interface.

Oh ok. I think I remember the part about the old GBPVR interface now that you mention it, but I didn't know about it only being for digital signal. Does anyone know if there is a way to do this for analog signals?

I have a feeling that there is no interface for analogue cards to report signal strength.
Doesn't work on my pvr150 anyway, but does with digital nova-t-500.

There is no way GB-PVR could check for the signal strength of an analog signal. Analog cards just dont expose this type of info. The most it could get is that "a signal is present", but that could be a snowy mess.

Oh ok, I saw signal strength mentioned as a possible reason for skips in a recording, so I thought I would try to check it out.

I think digital will skip or die with signal dropouts.
Analogue is more resilient in that you just get noise and snow recorded.
Probably because the timing signals are broadcast on digital (and lost) but generated on the board with analogue.
