Hi,
I will repost my logs tonight (Swedish time). I am not sure how I succeeded in deleting them. But this time I will try to keep my hands off after posting Big Grin

EDIT Now with logfiles again

Here's a new patch that should hopefully address the MVP issue.

Additional logging included to hunt down the SQL error, but I don't think that should be causing any real problems other than not returning LiveTV information. I've seen examples where the logs report this error, but then later, when changing channels, the error does not repeat and the LiveTV details are returned correctly.

The patch also creates a separate debug log ExtDispLog.log to look for potential problems related to stuttering.

Any problems, please post this log, as well as PVRX2.exe.log and PVRX2.exe-native.log.

I keep having the not-updating issue. When entering live-TV, ED displays channel and program info. When changing channel, new channel is displayed correctly, program info isn't. When changing channel again, ED seems to stop working.

Iwan, these logs appear to be trying to use the DebugForm, which must have been closed down, hence the "disposed object" error. These logs do not seem to correspond to a run that was sending data to the VFD/LCD as it does not seem to agree with your description. Have you posted the correct logs?

Ok, second try. Did a reinstall of ED and reproduced the error.

Excellent - Glad to hear the first tests look ok. Do let me know how your further testing progresses

Iwan, from what I can tell:
  1. You started PVRX2. Date, Time and "GBPVR" should have displayed
  2. Went to Live TV and watched ZDF, Channel 5 at 23:15. Details of this program were sent to the display
  3. At 23:16:37 you changed the channel to ZDF (Zoku), 6. This caused an SQL error. Coincidentally (possibily), no further display updates. (Is this correct? What does the display show)
  4. You then changed the channel to ZDF (Info), 7 at 23:16:56. This retrieved the data from the database without error. (What does the display show)
  5. The logs then stop, although you went back to the main menu. Did the display show the next recording details? (Hör mal, wer da hämmert!)
The logging messages for the thread that updates the display (number [3]) stop when the channel is changed to ZDF (Zoku). I'm going to need to think about why this is happening, as it may be related to the problem. I also didn't get any additional logging details of the SQL error message either so the added coded didn't work as expected.

Does the same problem happen when you use the Debug Form?
If you also show the PropertyBrowser, do the details correctly change in that form, even if the LCD/VFD does not change?

Still looking goodBig Grin.
However I made a nasty test and found some possible bug (feature?).
If I try to look at Live TV on a channel where I don't have any EPG data it seems as if External Display crashes. It stops to update the display. Even after stopping Live TV and watching something else or just having the system idle no update is made to the display. A restart of PVRX2 fixes the problem.
See the enclosed log where I first watches TV2 and TV4, works prefectly the display is updated accordingly. Then I switch to The Voice where I don't have any EPG data and thereafter the display stops updating.

This is no major porblem as I usually don't watches these channels. But I thought i better to report it anyway.

Yes, until then everything is displayed as expected

Quote:

The display shows the channel name (ZDF (Doku), Channel 6) and program detail of the Channel I watched before (ZDF, Channel 5).

Quote:
  • You then changed the channel to ZDF (Info), 7 at 23:16:56. This retrieved the data from the database without error. (What does the display show)

Interesting - the display didn't update anymore, kept showing channel name ZDF (Doku), Channel 6 and program details of ZDF, Channel 5.

No, the information displayed doesn't get updated.

Will try to reproduce with Debug Form.

Did so, noticed that GBPVR stopped responding after a couple of channel changes. Logs attached.
