Issue coming out of hibernate

I have just set up a media pc using gbpvr which works great. I have one problem. I have set S3 power saving and hibernate on pressing the power button, and am using the Vmr9 renderer. When I hibernate the machine with gbpvr (pvrx2, latest version) it's fine. When I come out of hibernation, the screen is just black. It's the pvrx2 window, as if I get task manager up and kill it, it goes to the desk top. It looks like the renderer is not refreshing the screen. I'm using onboard graphics with 256MB memory allocated to it, and running in 640x480 mode.

Any ideas what could be wrong? I've not put a tuner card in yet (planning to get a nova-t 500) as this hibernate issue will stop it being so useful.

I am having exactly the same problem - all is working fine except if I leave PVRX2 running when the machine hibernates it's blank when it returns and nothing will wake it. Ctrl-alt-del and task manager sorts it out. I'm using VMR9 FSE I think.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Try setting VGA palette snoop on in BIOS - that helped me, (Disclaimer: I have no idea why)

Browsed the BIOS - no VGA palette snoop to set sadly.

Does anything in this thread help, in particular re having delayedstart.exe in your gbpvr directory?

Sadly not. I've been through this thread before, but on your recommendation I looked more carefully. delayedstart.exe is there - I think it arrived with 1.1.5 but I'm not sure. FESRestartImmediately is set to "true", and I've used the PVRX2 exe from 21/11/07 with no effect.

It's not a loss of focus thing - clicking makes no difference. My only solution is ctrl-alt-del and kill PVXR2, then restart it.

Aha - it worked. Thanks!

I'd tried pvrx2.exe from http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...ostcount=2 as it was later than the one you suggested - I assumed it would have the same fixes.

I've just tried this patch and it works for me too. Thanks for the update - it was driving me mad (via the wife - kind of broke the seamless use of the HTPC when you had to use the task manager then restart!
