Hi,

I'm new to this so be kind.

I downloaded the Community skin and ran Community.exe. The application completed and asked if I wanted the community skin to be the default. I said yes, and when I started GB-PVR, the new skin was there and looked terrific.

However, when I exit and restart GB-PVR, I only get certain parts on the new skin. The Main Menu and Live TV have the old blue skin and System, Photos, Music, TV Guide, etc. have the new skin. (TV Guide has the new image but the old layout - i.e. channel numbers etc.)

I am runnung Windows Vista and have already realized that the config.xml file that works is in the user\app data\local\virtual store\program files\devnz\gbpvr directory.

Also I'm confused whether I unzip skins into SKIN2 or SKIN subdirectory - either way only BLUE and COMMUNITY show up in the config aplication.

I hope I was clear enough.

Are you using GBPVR.exe or PVRX2.exe?

I'm using GBPVR. Since I'm new to this, what's the difference?

Hi Terry...

If I remember (I don't use Vista myself), sub recommends that you delete that config.xml so the system uses the 'correct' one in the gbpvr folder...

GBPVR.exe is the exe for the old user interface. v 99 A lot has changed since then. The New GUI is PVRX2.exe. (of course everything is still called GB-PVR) And that's what the new Community Skin is set to work with.

THe new GUI is a lot flashier bu default, but the new skins are looking pretty good. Biggest thing you'll see is smoother fonts and lines, rather than the old jaggy lettering... Plus there're animations as the different buttons are selected...

If you are using gbpvr.exe (the old user interface), the Community Skin 3.+ will not work as your default skin (there is the legacy version on the wiki for that interface). It is desinged to run under PVRX2.exe only.

The old interface is going to be phased out in the future, and has not had any improvements since GB-PVR 1.0
