Video Library resume or restart prompt logic

Once an entry has been created in the playback_position table is there any way for it to be deleted ? It seems like it should get deleted on successful completion of the video to avoid prompting next time the video is played. The problem I am having is if I have ever stopped a video I will always be prompted to resume or restart it every time I play it again. I don't want to disable the prompt because it's very useful when necessary. I only have this problem in the Video Library since the Recordings shows the Resume button. Is there a setting I can tweak to change this behavior ?
