It'll only attempt to run comskip on .mpg and .dvr-ms files. It wont try to run comskip on .ts files.
I'm not sure if comskip can handle .ts files. If it can, then you could create a PostProcessing.bat file to run comskip against it. GB-PVR will automatically run this batch file if it exists after each recording, passing in the filename of the recording as an parameter.

Comskip handles .ts files. I run it via the parallelprocessing.bat file.

Sub, it seems I have an even worse problem. My regular SD mpeg recordings are now showing up as like 3 seconds. However, when you look in the directory, the files are correct length and have the comskip ok. Just playback won't happen right either in pvrx2 or wmp. HELP.
The same logs still apply.

Seems the only thing I've done different recently is switch from cyberlink to intervideo. Maybe comskip doesn't like intervideo..who knows.

I've setup a test for later today to record a high def program, an SD program in high quality, and an SD program in medium quality and see what's going on. It appears that when I have intervideo mpeg decoder selected either comskip uses it and mangles the mpeg file or something else is affected. Also, it does not appear to touch the .ts or dvr-ms files with this decoder selected. I am wondering if there's a way for comskip to use cyberlink but while keeping pvrx2 using intervideo (intervideo gives me the best playback for some reason). When outside of pvrx2 and I drop the file (any type) onto comskip.exe it works solid. The codec wmp is using for decoding right now for default outside of pvrx2 is cyberlink.
Again, I'm not sure any of this is what's going on but when I get back home later I will compare all the files. If I notice wierd stuff going on and it's related to comskip I'll post wherever the appropriate comskip sub forum might be.. Hopefully Sub can get some understanding of what's going on by looking at the logs.

Comskip has its own internal demux and decoder.
Its does not use any of the installed decoder

And I suspect the mpeg isn't mangled either, even though your decoder might have an issue with it. If you play the file back with a different decoder does the timeline look to be ok? If the video duration is off regardless of the decoder, then it's a recording or mux problem that has nothing to do with the decoder settings. If you have the conversion options set to convert .dvr-ms or .ts files automatically, these conversions can sometimes introduce timeline problems too.

I could watch the entire program, but I could not fast forward and the comskip parameters (which ran) did not show up either (WMP or pvrx2). And no, either decoder could not play back the file correctly. Wierd. I will report back later today when I get home what the results were. Oh, and I don't have conversions set.

Ok test complete. I don't know what happened before, but SD programs are working like normal. However, .ts files are not being processed by comskip. Is there anyway to force a process via an end of day script or postprocessing or something? It's not doing it on its own.
By the way, thanks for the incredible support everyone, especially Sub. |
