Hi
Has anyone managed to get the Winfast (leadtek) DVT1000 S up and running?

I've added in the bda section to the appropriate file and it gets detected okay, but when it comes to scanning channels it gets part way through and a nasty unhandled exception is then thrown (see attachment).

I'm not sure if this matters but sometimes it seems to list correct channel names and sometimes it just lists "unknown 1 unknown 2 etc. It always crashes as the exact same point however. I've tried both the drivers that came with it and the latest ones from the winfast. As an experiment I managed to get media portal to run the card which just confused me even more.

Any help would be greatly appreciated at this point. :confused:

I'm assuming by the "S" in the name this is a DVB-S device? If so, then you have the tuning_type set incorrectly and it should be:

[WinFast DTV1000 S]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-S
FILTER_TUNER=WinFast DTV1000 S BDA DVBT Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=WinFast DTV1000 S BDA Digital Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

It definatley a terrestrial DVB-T tuner, the S stands for silicon tuner rather than the T in DTV1000 T which is a similar featured model, but with a 'tin can' type tuner.

Ok.

Try clicking the 'map digital channels to epg channels' then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Ok, Here are the logs.
It got part way into the scan and crashed as usual. To be honest I have a bad feeling about this card, I fear the current xp driver may be buggy. Even the native leadtek pvr2 app doesnt seem to like this card.
Thanks for your help.

What country and region did you select when you setup the capture source? It looks like the .ini associated with this has an invalid entry in it.

Set to Australia and Gold Coast. Also tried Australia and All Channels.
It took much longer to crash when it was scanning all channels, only crashed when it got near the high end frequencies, seemed to scan the low end ok, although there arent any active channels down there.

There was a data error in the gold coast file. Try replacing the .\bda\dvb-t\0151.ini file with the attachment.

If that doesnt help, then repost the logs.

Replaced that .ini file, now scans all 8 channels without crashing, all seem to lock at -20 and 100% quality.
But still lists 'unknown 1, unknown 2, unknown 3, unknown 4 and then repeats that sequence in the found channel window. No video on the preview screen at all. Occasional burst of audio.
I mapped a few of the channels to see what would happen, but PVRX2 just reports no signal.

Rescanned for an experiment, got a fraction of video/audio which loops, and it found the sbs channels (news, HD, etc), it then listed all subsequent channels as being sbs as well.
