I've tried several "tweaks" to my system to resolve an occational skip/choppy video issue. The skip doesn't happen all the time, but at least once in each video. I tried increasing the pci latency on my box, defragging my hard drive. I even separated my 2 drives onto 2 different buses. I had heard that if your drive was going bad that it might skip, so I started recording on my new(er) drive. I'm sure these things helped, but none resolved my issue. The only thing that fixed it was to increase the process priority to RealTime for the gbpvr recording service. I also increased the priority for the mvp to Above Normal, but that shouldn't affect the recording. You have to download a tool to change the priority - at least I couldn't change it right in Task Manager (probably has to do with the account the service is running under). I used ProcessExplorer to do this. I should also emphasize that this is all I use this pc for, and I always watch video on the MVP.
