I continue to have the recording service crashes at the most inopportune moments... while recording Lost or Survivor, the two shows my family likes the most. The error in the Event Viewer is always this:
Faulting application gbpvrrecordingservice.exe, version 1.0.2873.22918, stamp 00000034, faulting module sbe.dll, version 6.5.2600.2180, stamp 411096b1, debug? 0, fault address 0x000239c2.
Sub has explained that this dll is part of the DVR-MS mux and there's really nothing gbpvr can do about it. It may happen more often when I have two recordings going at once, but I don't think that's always the case. Is anyone else experiencing this problem, or even better, has anyone found a way to fix it?

I'd prefer to record in .ts format but you can't watch recordings in progress. I've used the ATI and Cyberlink mpg mux, but not with good results, so dvr-ms format is really the only option for me. If I can't get this resolved though I guess I'm going to have to give up watching in-progress recordings and go back to .ts. Has anyone else experienced this problem with sbe.dll?

I'm not really sure what to suggest. From memory you're the only user I've ever seen post in the past about crashes occurring in sbe.dll.

There is a couple of changes in the next release which might improve your results with the Cyberlink/ATI muxes.

This is one of those times I really don't want to be "special" Smile

Things went down hard again last night, about 25 minutes into Survivor and American Idol and 30 minutes before Lost. If I hadn't set the cable box to record all 3 of the same shows for the night, my family may have lynched me.

Easy but not the cheapest fix for that is add another tuner.

If it's that goofy of a problem, I'm already thinking a Windows reinstall might be the easiest (only?) cure. Hmm, have you tried a System Restore? I was shocked when I did one the other week and it actually worked.
I bet Michael Bay uses GBPVR because it's awesome:

I have another tuner but I don't want to watch the program live. We usually intentionally start our viewing of our favorite shows 20 minutes late so we can skip the commercials. That's the beauty of commercial skip... you can use all that commercial time to get other stuff done.

Not sure what I'd restore in my system restore since it's been occurring off and on for quite a while. I've considered the reinstall option, but it's an extreme solution that might not even work. That does make me think though... I may install GBPVR on another machine and see if it occurs on another machine. If not, that might give me more hope that a reinstall will work.

Thanks for the feedback.
