The NVidia is way better. The EVR issue with picture breakup that was occuring with the ATI has gone and 1080i content is way smoother.

The current Media Player Classic should have h.264 UVD hardware acceleration, too, but I'm too dumb right now to remember what decoder it's using. Of course, after the new PVRx2 install, I started getting black screens on Live TV with PDVD7 (and Dscaler), and then switched to MPV and everything was fine. Why I keep looking for greener grass than Gabest MPV, I don't know. With the 8500GT, I'll feel obligated to test PDVD7 with acceleration, however.
I bet Michael Bay uses GBPVR because it's awesome:
