I have a new HDHomeRun which works fine with the HDHomerun software and VLC. I installed the current version of GBPVR with the standard defaults and plugins. I set up the HDHomerun per the instructions in the Silcondust forums, but with no EPG (EPG=NONE) as I can't quite figure out which one to use yet - I figured I'd use manual recording for now.

So, I can see live TV, I have plenty of empty disk space, and0 when I setup a 10 min manual recording (for testing) I get a Manual Recordings folder with either 0 Kb files (.ts) or 6Kb files (dvr-ms) files. I also get two of them, one with a -1 on the end. Naturally there's nothing there. I've fiddled with a few settings (changed type of saved files obviously), and changed some playback options as I was getting stuttering and breakup, but live TV basically works fine.

When the recording time comes around I see the streaming light on the HDHR come on, so somethings happening

So, I'm out of ideas for now. Log files are attached. I must be missing something simple. The system is an X2-3600 running at 2.3Ghz, 2Gb memory

thanks

To me it looks like the HDHomeRun never supplies any data. Maybe your firewall software is getting in the way, not letting GBPVRRecordingService.exe receive the data from the HDHomeRun?

See point (1) of my instructions at http://www.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2485 for what to allow through the firewall.

Edit: Helps if I read. You said you followed those instructions. You may want to edit your c:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\config.xml and change the <BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording> tag so it reads:

<BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording>1</BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording>

You may need to restart the recording service afterwards.

Thanks everyone, it did turn out to be a firewall problem (I should have come up with that!)
