The Cyberlink H.264 decoder works here with TV3. Reproduce the problem then post your logs and I'll take a look.

Quote:Also, I have an nVidia GeForce Go 7400; would that be capable of H.264 hardware decoding?
No, I'm fairly sure you'd need either an nvidia 8xxx or ATI 2x00/3xx0.

Logs attached. Also, playback of video on TV1 and TV2 is rather jerky. A solution to this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the quick and very helpful replies so far. Big Grin

If the video is jerky on TV1/TV2, its likely that your videocard or decoder isnt managing to keep up.

For the lack of video, I cant see any sign of any errors in your logs but the video decoder and videocard are responsible for producing the picture so I'd have to guess one of those two is at fault.

Sorry I know that's not particularly helpful, but its still pretty early days for H.264, so we havnt the results of many combinations of decoders and videocards, so its hard to know which work well.

Very strange.

I have exactly the same issue.

I can have PowerDVD installed. I can play TV1 and TV2 no problems, but any of the interlaced channels such as TVNZ6, TV3, Maori TV etc don't work.

It starts playing the audio, plays for about 4 seconds then stops. The video never shows up.

I'm running a Q6600 with a Geforce 7300GS and Windows XP.

I have PowerDVD installed as well as Monogram

logs attached FYI

I'm pretty sure these older nvidia 7x00 cards do not have all the H264 acceleration features required for our NZ DVB-T channels. You may be seeing that this acceleration doesnt cope with interlaced channels. Maybe try disabling hardware acceleration in that decoder ro see if it works any better.

Also, what version of the monogram decoder are you using. You need 0.9.3.0 or the audio will cut out http://blog.monogram.sk/janos/2008/03/15...oder-0930/

Hi sub,

According to this list at Nvidia (pdf file):-

http://www.nvidia.com/page/purevideo_support.html

H.264 hardware decode acceleration is available even in the 6000 series but only a few have IDCT support even in the 8000 series.

Is IDCT support what's needed for NZ Freeview HD?

Maybe, I dunno. I've only seen confirmation of the nvidia 8000 series and ATI 2x00/3xx0 cards being able provide hardware acceleration of our Freeview HD.

I was never able to get any H.264 acceleration out of my old 7600GS card. It was AGP though.

LAGuy in the thread below claims that 7600GS acceleration works, although his may be a PCI-E card.

There seems to be a number of stars that need to be in alignment to get some of the lesser cards to work, 8xxx series NVidia cards seem to work right out of the box.

He's not in New Zealand though, and not talking about H.264 video. Its talking about high definition MPEG2 as used in the united states. Most videocards produced in the last couple of years will accelerate MPEG2 playback.
