I tried searching but didn't have much luck.

I've tried SageTV and Snapstream's solution, but neither worked with my card. However, GB-PVR does work.

I understand that PVR = personal video recorder, but was wondering if I can just make it let me watch TV without it recording?

Thanks in advance for any help given.

there is an option in the config called "live preview mode" this will allow you to watch tv without recording to mpeg2 file, however this does not work with the 350 or xcard. so you need to be using a normal gfx card.

Yeah, I had that on and I got "Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I'm using an ASUS PVR-416, which is based on the Conexant Blackbird chipset.

Sorry, Live Preview mode will not work with that card.

I have the same card -- is there a particular reason live tv won't work with it? Have my PVR-500 on order anyhow, but it'd be nice to use the third tuner for live tv since the quality settings don't work on it anyhow.
By the way, my PVR-500 is apparently on back order, has anyone found a good online shop that carries them in stock?
Thanks for the great program

I cant personally vouch for this specific card because I dont have one, but the theory is it will work for live tv (timeshift mode), but just not the new live preview mode of live tv. Live preview mode is written to take advantage of specific features of the Hauppauge cards, GO7007SB cards and BDA cards only.
