show length incorrect?

So I'm having this problem...

For some reason, sometimes, after GBPVR records a show, it shows the wrong length on the OSD when I'm playing it back. For example I recorded House on tuesday and it shows up as 18 minutes. Now, if I let it run, it continues through the full one hour show. But I can't fast forward after this point. Is there a way to fix this?

I'm using a PVR-500.

I'm using a PVR-500.

The PVR-500 is just two PVR-150s on the same card, so I'm pretty sure it has the same issue.

Yeah, some PVR500 owners also suffer from the same problem, so it is most likely the cause.

Have any of you seen this timestamp problem with the ATI Theatre Pro 550? All mpeg videos recorded with GBPVR using my ATI TV card have incorrect length information. They will play fine, but I can only fast forward up to the reported length which is about 56 seconds for a half hour video.

No, I've never seen this reported for the ATI 550 Pro. First I'd confirm the incorrect duration is reported in other players using the same files. If it is, then you'll probably need to report the fault to ATI.

Ok, I don't play with the registry to often. I am unsure how to add the time stamp fix to the registry. I have created a new key "DriveDate" but am unsure where go from there.

Open notepad. Copy and paste the following code in a new text file. Save it as "TimeStampFix.reg". Notepad may automatically add a txt extension. If it does, rename the file without the ".txt". Double click the reg file and it will automatically import the settings into the registry.

Here is a premade reg file with the above. You can open it with notepad to verify the reg settings being modified. (I recommend this whenever applying reg settings that you download.)
