streaming vs file share quality issue

In file share mode i can not watch live tv because it is slow and choppy. Also i get no audio when playing back recordings. If i open the live show in VLC it plays fine. Also recordings play fine in VLC.

In streaming mode everything seems to work ok but quality is low and menu response is slow.

I have tried the two different decoders with the same results plus the overly type seems to have no effect.

This problem is only on the client machine.

Maybe try setting the buffer time for live TV slightly longer in file sharing mode.

Didn't work. cranked it up to 1000 with no effect.

Another thing that might help narrow it down is the fact that while the show is recording if i try to watch it on the client from the recordings menu it is the same stuttering jerky playback as live tv. But if i watch it with VLC while recording it all is fine.

I'm guessing it has something to do with the way that pvrx2 access files that are already being accessed by another process. This is one of the reasons i like using VLC is because it can do this extremely well but i would like to just use the pvrx2 program instead of switching back and forth. Plus there is a possibility of having up to 3 clients accessing the same file while it's being recorded.

Same results - never was able to resolve the problem with File Sharing. I was able to play around a little at one point with pause, rewind, etc and get it to play back smooth for a short time - can't remember the details though.

Fixed one of the issues. "no audio during playback" I had to download an AC3 filter. Noticed a more in depth problem when i was not getting audio in WMP. Searching and trying different fixes came up with the AC3 filter. Not sure why i lost my ability to render audio but all seems good now on that end.

Still poor live playback on client but i don't think there will be a fix for that as i do not like how slow streaming is.

Did you ever get this fixed? I'm having a similar issue.

I get slow motion from the client. First 5 seconds looks good, then slow motion from then on..really really slow motion too.
