See that entry in red on pdvd. That goes away once I stop using the avivo once and use the cyberlink one. Of course after that, avivo doesn't work again until I reboot. Very odd. Also note that my file is 704x480. I know I recorded this off of our NBC affiliate over QAM. They are supposed to be doing 1080i so I thought 1080i was 1920x1080 interlaced so I'm not sure what's up with the resolution. It also does not seem to match the 720x480 recommendation up at the top of the pic. It's gotta be doing high def - the file size is insane. seems we have totally different gpu in these cards...mine is R610 and 3200 is R780...

Mine with AVIVO is about 43% total with both CPUs, or about 90% on 1 core. That's while using the play option on VMR9 on avivo using this tool.
By the way, what do all these modes mean? Also, is GBPVR able to hit these modes? Don't mean to revive this thread again, but I was curious if more people have tried out the 780g chipset boards and what is their experience with hardware acceleration.

The only reason I'm not all that concerned is that it does manage to play everything I throw at it, albeit taxing the CPU a bit. I'm also quite happy that it's an integrated graphics set so I can use some smaller cases and save some bucks on the video card as well. I also have not found ANY codec that can hardware accelerate for h.264. I used coreAVC and it only does software, but the cpu can handle it (1080p video running at around 75% of BOTH cores if I recall correctly). try using the media player classic home cinema mpc-hc decoder
http://tibrium.neuf.fr/ http://sourceforge.net/projects/mpc-hc/ you will want to download the individual directshow filter The current version is supposed to work with ati video cards and i have seen reports of people who have 780g systems who say it works. The current stable version doesn't work with nvidia card's. newer nightly build of the full media player classic home cinema program with the decoders built in do work with nvidia cards they don't seem to build nightly the directshow filters by them self I am thinking about downloading the source and trying to compile my self but that might be over my head  Also you will need to add the decoder to the list of supported decoders in the config file

Also the individual decoders, and media splitters are available for download, This is what you will want to download for use in gbpvr. You just have to put them some where (like the windows directory) and then register them on the system using regsvr32 from the command line. Like i said before you have to add the decoder name to the gbpvr config.xml in the h264 supported decoder list, I dont remember what its name is and I am away form the dvr for the weekend. Since you can install the individual decoders it works the same as any directshow filter such as divx, it just that there is no installer and you have to get down and dirty to install it Hope this helps, if any one want to chime in and help explain this better please do as I kinda suck at explaining things

Do you mind if I jump in here. I have built a simliar computer. At least we have the same motherboard. I have the M3A78-EMH HDMI an APEVIA X-QPACK2-NW-BK/500 case AMD Athlon Am2 6000 4 gigs ballistix ram western digital raptor 150, Hauppage 1600 tv card and samsung dvd burner. I am getting the same high pitched whine. I called asus and they said to remove all the components and then add them back in one at a time. They mentioned a capacitor going bad. I pulled a sound blaster audigy 2zs platinum sound card out and the whine is quieter. I thought it was a hard drive going bad and I replaced that. It seems like the more activity the more the whine. I am beginning to think it might be the power supply. Do you have an apevia case? Have you learned anything more about the whine. I disabled the lan in the bios and didn't lose the whine. |
