Hey, I'm no expert but I thought taks images were still available. It's just commented out in the default blue skin. I use the blue-retro-SHV skin and it uses task images. I've even added some for the weather and cinema plugins myself. I know the community skin has them as well.

I think they are talking about ONLY having images and no text.

probably, I just know thats one of the things my media portal friends grumble about when they say media portal looks prettier. I'm trying to find out what "prettier" means

True MediaPortal does look 'prettier', but I found it to be unstable and kept crashing allot compared to GBPVR.

I prefer stability to 'prettier'.

Sure, totally agree.

But I think we've got the stable now. And prettier helps with the WAF.

Also with devices like the Popcorn hour, which are high def capable, it's be nice to show off what the screen can do.

The taskimages part I was discussing is having the images part of the button composite image. You would have as many task images as buttons on the screen at one time, not just the one for the selected item.

I'll have to double check this, but I thought you couldn't do this with PVRX2.exe.

And having the button text color being "Transparent" would make it invisible.
