How do I adjust Recurring setup to be 1 hour

Is there a setting I can change in the config or somewhere so that when I setup a recurring recording it does not use the 3 hours spread for this season recording I want it to record just that hour on the hour. Sometimes they run the shows back to back with old episodes coming later and season recording still picks these up. I run a tight schedule so I want it to do exactly as I want so I dont have so many conflicts. Any help? Thanks.

The default is to allow the start time to move +/-90 minutes, since its pretty common for shows to be moved an hour some weeks.

If you want to limit the start time variance to +/-30 minutes, then you can set <AllowableTimeslotVariance>30</AllowableTimeslotVariance>, but dont come crying to me when the show start time moves by an hour

I have been using it for about 2 years an never had this happen so I should be pretty safe. But you understand what I am saying when there are several shows of the same name in that 3 hourslot it flags all of them to record. is 30 mins my bottom limit or can I set it to 0 so it hits directly on the hour?

Also will changing this effect my current season recurring recordings like will I need to redo all of those recurrences? or will the restart figure it out?

You can set it to 0 if you want.

This value is only used when creating new season recordings. Existing ones will be unchanged.

I think the big thing here is the difference in TV scheduling in the United States vs the rest of the world (might be a tad too general there). US TV schedules tend to be far less fluctuating, and when they do its usually advertised heavily. From what I understand, other countries move shows around a bit for various reasons. The main difference in this I've found in the US is rerun shows late at night. They sometimes move without warning, and I've caught them because I still have a big lag time set up.

I've commented on this issue when it has cropped up before.

I find it considerably easier to delete an extra show that gets recorded than it is to scrabble around to try to get hold of one that gets missed.

Doesn't the US have episode specific data in the EPG to prevent duplicate recordings?

I addressed the same problem when I encountered it with CNBC's "Closing Bell" (which has a one hour airing immediately before the NYSE bell and another right after it) by setting up the hour I wanted as a manual recording.

That way, it doesn't trigger on the show name, but on the time slot. By setting up the recording on the computer (where you've got a full keyboard) you can enter a show name that you want it recorded under, so it's easy to find the episodes later. Since "Closing Bell" is a news show, not an episodic series, I don't mind the lack of an episode description.
