Could this be due to using the spdif (Coax) output, although all other playback works fine through this connection?

Yup - TV3 is the only channel on Freeview that is using AC3, so if my PC was fast enough to play 1080i H.264, I could watch TV3 .ts files (but it isn't). And the audio sync issue with Monogram 0.9.3 means I have to watch the other channels live - which is kinda a wierd feeling - what does "time" and "tv" have to do with each other ? I've just started seeing these things called ads in my TV shows Smile

We wait patiently for someone in the world to sort this out ...

I just went through a major diagnostic session to get .ts file playback. Works fine (well sort of) on the .ts HD samples from the BBC (Beyonce and Robin Hood) but because I don't have a video card with acceleration, the picture is a wash of colour with shapes I can make out. I am guessing that's because the CPU just can't do it (waiting to install my ATI HD2600XT card).

But no sound from the .ts samples that purport to have AAC-HE LATM audio with the latest Monogram codec. I have to use the Haali splitter since the HDTV Pump seemed to cause WMP to crash.

I applied all the patches and config.xml changes sub suggested so I could get regular .ts files to play. Also the samples don't have audio when playing with PowerDVD 7 ultra but I suspect it won't call the Monogram DS filter

Same here - only noticed audio sync out on a TV3 recording - but may be with all the DVB-T channels - its luck of the draw wether our recordings use DVB-S or DVB-T - depends if anyone is watching something on one of them already.

For those with PowerDVD 8 installed, you can try the attached patch, and add <UsePowerDVD8ForTS>true</UsePowerDVD8ForTS> into config.xml. After this our H264/AAC recordings playback pretty nicely.

You'll also want to add "CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (PDVD8)" to the <SupportedH264Decoders> setting in config.xml.

Hmm, actually only for the first play of any specific file. I'll have to look into that one tomorrow...

Great work sub.. It looks like PDVD8 might hopefully be the solution we've all been looking for!

My experiences.

Upgraded my PDVD7 to PDVD8. Machine is AMD Sempron 64 3000 (single core) and lowly video card (Nvidia GeForce 6200)

Using PDVD8 I can play the TV1 sample that sub uploaded to another thread. It actually plays quite well with very little jerkiness and full audio. So it's clear that PDVD8 can handle the LATM audio.

Made the changes suggested in the thread

1. updated config.xml
2. replaced the dll in the program files\devnz\gbpvr directory

Rebooted to make sure

Checked out the config application. The Audio Renderer is now Cyberlink Audio Renderer (PDVD8). However for H.264 playback the choice is System Default and there is no other choice.

If I try to play the sample file from TV1 gbpvr just crashes with the normal Windows error messages.

Looking at config.xml I can see the following:

<SupportedH264Decoders>CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (PDVD7.x),CyberLink H.264/AVC Decoder (AzureWave),ffdshow Video Decoder,CoreAVC Video Decoder,ArcSoft Video Decoder</SupportedH264Decoders>
<PreferredH264VideoDecoder>System Default</PreferredH264VideoDecoder>

So this seems to suggest that it's trying to user Cyberlink H.264 (PDVD7) filter

But I also have this line later

<UsePowerDVD8ForTS>true</UsePowerDVD8ForTS>

So I guess that should override it.

Looking at the logs for the crash though it shows something different

It looks like it's trying to still use the Intervideo H.264 Decoder but I de-installed WinDVD. So that could be why it crashes - no filter
Is there a way to specify in the config.xml which h.264 filter to use?
