OK I finally got a chance to do some more testing. This time skip and rewind are working just fine on several shows including the particular show which it was not working for previously.
There is one major difference from before though when it did not work - the show was in the process of being recorded (we do this a lot - start watching a show using the MVP while it is being recorded). Maybe this particular scenario is the problem?

I am having the same problem. I recently built a new machine to replace my old underpowered one. New machine uses Gigabyte motherboard, Intel e8400 procesor, 2GB of ram. I think this setup is more than powerful enough. After installing WinXP Pro (SP2). I installed the latest version of GBPVR. My wife tells me that the FF and RW do not work. She says with the old machine and old GBPVR version: holding down the FF or RW key it behaved like a VCR with speeded up playback. Now nothing happens.
I have tried changing <skipinsteadofFFRW> to false. But for some reason it reverts back to true.
Attached are my log files and config.xml file.
Any help is most appreciated.
Tried editting with config and/or PVRX2 running ... didn't work. Closed both down and made change. Restarted everything, checked config.xml and it stayed as I had changed it. Testing it all appears OK. Pressing the FF or RW buttons it takes off til pressing the pause or play button. Will have to let the real tester, a.k.a "The Wife" give it a night of testing!
Thanks for your help.
