If you use the current mvpmcx2 client, you don't have to do a thing, it adjusts to the server. If you want cosmetic changes rename GB-PVR.html to N-PVR.html and edit it to use NPVR. NMTInstall2 will do this if you are not comfortable.

Right sorry. Actually that is NextRecord.exe for TCP and UDP, and NRecord.exe for TCP.

You're right though there is a lot of old and obsolete information in the forum right now, making searching before 2010 not very useful.

Martin, what would the cosmetic changes be? If still running GB-PVR and N-PVR alongside each other on same server is there a way to have GB-PVR.html and N-PVR.html each doing their thing?

cheers

The cosmetic changes are the names presented on the TV. No matter what you name the html file or label the text within the html file, it is the contents of the cgi script and startmeup that matter and these by default are the same.

Since you can't run a GBPVR and NPVR MVP Server on the same machine, no matter what you call it, the client will launch using the active server.

Some users have test servers and they can create a link to it inside the same html file or through another one, that would be a user choice.

I don't think there is any way to differentiate when they are running on the same server.....
I won't say impossible as it may be possible to have two IP addresses on the PC and use the firewall to separate the two PVR processes, but no way am I going there!

OK thanks all, I don't see a need to complicate anything at the moment Big Grin

I've managed to get my hands on a 2nd PCH A110 in my slow move to upgrade my MVP's around the house. For test purposes everything is working very nicely with clients booting either GB-PVR or NPVR off same server depending on which service is active.

Full switch to NPVR very imminent now anyway and would start with a whole fresh rebuild of server so anything cosmetic can happen then Wink

cheers

Is there a NextRecord.exe ? I only have NextPVR.exe and NRecord.exe?
My NPVR experience on the PCH is pretty spotty, sometimes it runs LiveTV or a recorded program sometimes not. I am afraid to cut out GBPVR completely, but maybe that is teh issue. I only have the server running in NPVR, in GBPVR it is set to 0.
