-stattik- Wrote:One option would be to move the file to the movie directory before it gets processed by the script. This could be done in the postprocessing.bat file.

Code:
copy %1 c:\movies\%~nx1

Because the directory is changed though, the movie will no longer be in the GBPVR database.

I am worried about losing the metadata if I move the file since your script transfers the matadata to the avi i was hoping I can gt the file moved as well...

copy %1 c:\movies\%~nx1

if you don't mind me asking...

what can I include in the batch file to move the metadata?

so I can enable directory monitoring and when a new recording comes I can have postprocessing.bat move the mpg and metadata to the new location to be processed by your script.

nice work btw

The metadata stays with the file. When you move it, it will stay with the file.

Hi,
-stattik- Wrote:The _clean.mpg file seems to be from comclean. What comskip.bat file are you referring to? You shouldn't need to run comclean with your setup.
It's just that the comskip documentation said about running comclean to remove the adverts.

I was using comclean3.bat as that was using mencoder and I have already downloaded mencoder.

But if your script does the 'comclean3.bat' bit then I don't need it, like you said.

But now gbpvr is generating .mpg files rather than dvr-ms files

So I assume the script isn't picking them up and converting when I changed it to be postprocessing.bat.

Hmmm ... when gbpvr sets a recording, does it stores the current config settings or use the current setting if they have been changed since setting the recording? Off to ask another question!!!

Thanks
Alan

Hi,

I can't get the script to work at the moment.

I've attached my postprocessing script which is 0.5.6

I enter the options 2, 9 and then 2

I get an error of

Applying automatic encoding logic to source file.
twopass==iRiver was unexpected at this time.

Can someone help?

I have attached my postprocessing.bat and a log of the output of the command window (with a lot of cutting and pasting!), both with debug off and debug on.

Edit: I've found out that SET comskipmode=yes was yes8 but I changed it to yes and I still get the same error.

Many thanks
Alan

If you just want a smaller mpg file then use comclean. If you want an even smaller xvid or x264 file then use the script.

Either you have the BDA multiplexer set to output a mpg file or it's comclean which is creating the mpg file.

The script is most likely looking for dvr-ms files.

Unfortunately, the log doesn't get to the point where the error occurs. If you want to capture the entire thing, increase the buffer height to 9999 (start script, right-click on dos icon in upper-left, choose properties, layout tab. Save properties for future windows.) That should capture things up to the error point. I tried the same settings here but couldn't reproduce the error.

Thanks for that tip of increasing the buffer height!

I've rerun it and I have attached the log.

Many thanks for your help.

I found the issue. I've attached the fixed script. The problem was the way the script handled multiple profiles.

Hi,

I'm using digital freeview in the UK to record the programs.

Some come down as 720x576 @16:9. They compress fine.

Some come down as 544x576 @16:9. Problems.

The original play fine on a KMPlayer going to widescreen, but the 'compressed' file after the stattik script has the top and bottom chopped off.

I have the profile as standard, two_pass, x264, hoping it would cope but it doesn't seem to do the 544x576 @16:9 properly. Can you tell me what settings I should use?

Many thanks
Alan
