Thanks, but it didnt do anything. The red button always used to kill remote functionality before and it seems to do the same now. If i replace 'R@ with '*' will it work?

also have to add it to LiveTVPreviewPlayer.xml and LiveTVTimeshiftPlayer.xml and DvdPlayer.xml if you wish to use it in those areas..
personally i use the irremote.ini and set my sub/cc/# key to F7 in there...best...works everywhere..
[key only used for subs, so not missing anything if you don't use em]
search for SUBCC and changeit to:
SUBCC={findwnd(,PVRX2)}{SendMsg(32775,118,0)}
then hit # on remote for aspect
In general, you can modify Hauppage remote to whatever you like it to do by modifying irremote.ini file which is located c:\windows folder. Make a backup of the file, then modify it with notepad, save and restart remote.
When you go to GB-PVR configuration, DVD section and hit "Fix Hauppauge Remote Settings..." then GBPVR writes a section which starts with [PVRX2] and/or [GBPVR] at the end of irremote.ini file. You can add/change/remove commands there. To see what the remote does when a button is unassigned by PVRX2, go to [Default] section of ini file.
You also have to toggle off the "Use Direct Access To Hauppauge Remote" in GB-PVR config/misc, I believe.
You can find a lot of detailed info about it if you search either internal search function or google search (you can use google to search only gbpvr forum- go advanced).

Thanks for all the advice, its started working on its own now using the red button and im ok with it. Ill definatly give that ini file mod a try with a few other things though.
P.S. what do LiveTVPreviewPlayer.xml and LiveTVTimeshiftPlayer.xml do?
