So here is the planned configuration:

UltraXMLTV_Manager installed as service uses yapi2xml as grabber and UltraXMLTV_Enhancer to move the star-rating value into the description.

Mediaportal will then scan for file changes of the output file from the enhancer and thats it.

Thank you for the tip.

That's cool. Glad it's working. If you have any other data display suggestions/request be sure to fire something off in my sub-forum

whurlston Wrote:It would probably be easier for someone to simply rewrite it. I have the list of fields for the Yahoo file somewhere and I already have a strongtyped class for xmltv written in C#. If anyone wants to give it a shot, I can provide them with what I have. I'm too busy at the moment to take on another project.

I wouldn't mind rewriting it in C#. I went to http://developer.yahoo.com/ looking for the TV listings API and couldn't find anything. Does anyone know how to acquire the zip file containing the listings from Yahoo?

You won't find anything on it there. It is actually a feed for Yahoo! Go4TV. I found it back when Zap2It announced they were shutting down:

http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...tcount=213

Ingore the first paragraph. That was talking about McEpg2XmlTv. I'll look for the field list for you.

Fantastic! I have finished the easy part of downloading/parsing the providers/channels. Looking forward to the field list.

Here they are. These are the fields names used in Go4Tv database (commented on a couple of the to make them easier to understand). I never did figure out what fields 10 and 20 were (0 based) so they are marked "UNKNOWN".

Also attached is a small sample app that shows the basic use of my xmltv.dll. The dll is included and also the isocodes.dll which it requires.

Yep source is good. Of course anyone else is welcome to play with it, but it looks easy to work with for me... I'd be more than happy to look at errors and fix bugs...

I think Sneak is working on a new version in C# with whurlston's sample dlls and code...

Anyone who would like their issues looked at with -OZ-'s program, I'm now in a position to do so...

Let's start over. (long thread, I'm not going through it again...)

What's an outstanding issue you'd like to see fixed...

Now that Oz has provided the source code, my rewrite seems much less urgent. I will probably continue to work on it at a leisurely pace. If you would like me to set up a Subversion repository for the VB code for source control, I am happy to do so.

zehd Wrote:What's an outstanding issue you'd like to see fixed...

The problem I was experiencing was with an hour offset which began at daylight savings this year and continues even now. I am able to work around the problem by setting the "Apply offset when importing listings:" to "1:00", but a true fix would be nice.

I also have a question about the way gbpvr determines what programs to record when told to "Record Season" because it doesn't seem to work properly for me and I wonder if it has anything to do with the epg. For instance, if I ask gbpvr to record the season of "Nature" it misses several episodes, that is, the interface will list a number of Nature shows that do not appear to be marked for recording. Maybe this is just an interface issue (I'm using gbpvr.exe rather than pvrx2). I have a dual-tuner so overlap should not be a problem. Does gbpvr base it's decisions on how to record the season on the sub-title of the program at all? I'm confused, if you couldn't tell. Wink
