This theme set is obviously the same as Cast but just with, (for those who like my self Big Grin prefer), darker graphics.

Again the selectable options available for cast are available here and all the graphics are also in a higher rez format.

As always I'm very open to any suggestions for changes.

Enjoy Smile

Hey folks,

I was wondering if I could be cheeky and ask for some user feedback on this newer ("Cast" in general) set of themes. If anyone is using them, what do you like and don't like and what would you change?

Specifically I'd like to hear what people think of the high contrast between selected items and the background colour, i.e does the yellow selector with black text work or is it a little OTT?

On a broader question, what are the "must haves" when you're choosing a theme?

I'd really appreciate any thoughts and suggestions.

Cheers

I actually really like your green one. Mostly I've only gone for dark blue skins.

The only bit Im not quite sure of is the yellow buttons - but I'm not really sure why, I dont think its the colour, maybe the squareness and the size in the main menu (whic i know you can do nothing about).

But I find your work is excellent and I really like most of your colour schemes.

Please keep it up - I think skin developing is kind of a thankless task as you can put out so many variations and not always get thanked for them.

Cheers.

Cheers psycik,

I wasn't fishing I swear Big Grin

It's more the fact that I'm winging it and trying to work it out as I go. It's difficult to picture how it's gonna work on large displays 10+ feet away.

Because of how well the community skin and plugin are designed, someone like me can churn out loads of graphics. But it feels a little like I'm being prolific rather than effective, and I haven't even decided whether this is a bad thing or not. Smile

I've been tinkering with another idea lately and I can't decide whether it's a little samesy, but I've kind of reached a point where there is so much time invested I'm probably gonna' release it anyway Smile. I'm just keen to find out if the high contrast selectors work, or should they be toned down.

Any and all feedback is really really helpful.

Thanks again

Lots of graphics are always good as it allows users within the CS to choose their own colours, button shapes etc.

Yeah that's the way I'm leaning myself, that's why cast and this newer stuff is either neutral (black/white) or high contrast (especially yellow, that contrasts well with RGB).

I cannot complain about anything really. I have looked into some other items and I think I need to make some changes to the skin to better support light backgrounds. I still have some screens calling for white (as in tvguides) and with light backgrounds they don't work so well. I have some tinkering to do, but it shouldn't negatively impact anything.

Could you possibly pop off a dark purple background (WAF factor bonus points)?

On a slightly less silly note,

Should I post the photoshop files for these themes, that way anyone could pick their own "purple"?
