Hi,

I've recently downloaded pvrx2 v1.2.9

when I try and

go up & down channels or exit when watching a live tv program, or

skip, ff, rw, pause, exit when watching a recording using my mouse I get no response at all.

I do not have a remote control - obviously the mouse works to click through the guide to get to the programs in the first place but after that no response.

I uninstalled my previous version of gbpvr before installing the new one as I had been having a lot of problems with it locking completely (and having to power off the PC.) It seemed to interact badly with my modem (it would cut off my internet connection after a short while of watching live tv) but according to system information all my drivers are the latest and working fine. I never got a message about a driver conflict. I also scan regularly for registry issues and fix any problems that occur.

Anyway, are there any settings I can change to be able to use my mouse in pvrx2? I have tried various options with the renderers and the decoders but am having no joy there. The buttons themselves, although not useable, only actually appear when I choose the 'overlay manager' option.

I have added my logs.

Many thanks

I think I noticed this the other day, and only happens when you use the Overlay renderer. The mouse clicks work correctly with the other renderers. I'll look into why its not working with Overlay in the next release.

If you dont see the mouse buttons etc with the other renderers, this is most likely because you're using an old version of the Cyberlink decoder which is incompatible with VMR9. Try another decoder.

Thanks for the reply sub. I've just tried vrm9 custom (the other renderer I can't get on my system) with the mpeg decoder (which is the same as my system default) and is my only other decoder option. Unfortunately I am still not able to see the buttons.

Can I download a more up to date version of the cyberlink decoder from somewhere? Or would that come from a latest cyberlink player?

You'll probably find with that option its still using the Cyberlink decoder.

The Cyberlink PowerDVD7/8 decoder is enabled for VMR by default. Otherwise google for the 'Cyberlink EnabledVMR9=1 registry' setting.

Alternatively try another decoder like: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPV_Decoder.htm

Thanks that decoder you linked to worked Smile.

I still seem to get problems with pvrx2 locking up completely and my internet connection going off. (Then I have to power off the pc manually because nothing else works at all eg alt, ctrl, del or trying to restart.) The program works fine with the internet connection turned off though. I have a usb broadband modem but I might look at getting an ethernet modem to see if that helps. (So that I can record a program while doing stuff on the net.)

That sounds like some weird network or USB driver problem, rather than GB-PVR problem.

I have had weird usb driver problems before with the modem and a printer so that's why I'm thinking of ditching the usb modem.
