Freesat - Not picking up channels

Dabbs still many thanks for your scan but I cannot get More4, however it is found and plays within Hauppauge's WinTV with the same scan settings so will try and find out extra info elsewhere about this.

Hi Steeb, Open config.exe.log in the logs folder after your scan and check the settings for more 4.

I have attached my log file with the relevant lines with some notes added.

Cheers Dabbs- that's great stuff. Maybe the problem with the sound is that it needs an AC3 flag. Looking at the BBC HD settings in my scan cache, it specifically says AC3.

I must say, they aren't bothering to make these new settings very accessible. Practically every two bit shopping and t*rt on a sofa channel () on Astra 19.2E + Hotbird 13E can manage a clearly identifiable setup.

Just to make sure here's my scan cache listing for More4:

If I'm being stupid please someone tell me so, I'd prefer to be stupid than wonder why I'm the only person in the UK that can't get More4....

OK, I couldn't sleep

Rescanned one dvb-s card tonight, new results.....

Channels I was missing before:

zone reality (Reality TV)
movies4men
(movies4men +1)
zone thriller

All now are there. Scanned and locked, for now. I guess in a month or two all will become clear.

What was interesting was that other 'new' channels are appearing in the scan that did not appear before. Even if I'm not receiving them.

I guess the Lyngsat peeps are going to have a headache updating this info :p

The one that's bugging me is More4, still the only channel I should be able to get but VERY evasive.

Try scanning the transponder with tsreaderlite, its a free download

In the bottom left pane select Astra 2A 2B 2D
In the top pane frequency 10729, symbol Rate 22000, code rate 5/6
Then select vertical/RHCP then Tune. Yoe should get this.

I've found that there is a mix of possible settings that work fully with ITV HD. One of them relates to the latest "KingOfSat" entry on Eurobird 1 for ITV HD. I've posted them in an ITV HD - specific thread here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post276972

Aaaargh, on a rescan I've lost More4 again, weird thing is it had the same scan settings as it had before, just won't play. Anyone else in the UK NOT getting More4?

I've been reasonably successful picking up most of the Freesat channels on the scan (including More4) but I'm at a complete loss as to how to get an EPG. Should I be set up to get DVB EPG broadcast, or what? Looking around at other forums (e.g. digitalspy) there seem to be various rumours about the Freesat EPG having to be encoded in some special proprietary way to avoid clashing with the Sky EPG. Does this mean GBPVR is going to need some additional work to handle Freesat EPG?
