i do not beleive it is a problem with your script tried deleting edl files and it did nothing. tried using videoredo first and when i exported the video redo file it shows the source info is right so i figure it must be a problem with source info??? don't know how to tweak that so will just run videoredo first actually noticed the stattik_transcode_0.4b.bat would hang on switching from edl file to ptl file??

stattik,

Could you please look at the following log? I haven't changed anything in terms of the script and it used to convert dvr-ms -> xvid/avi without any issues. I noticed my recordings weren't resulting in an avi file so I wanted to enlist in your help if you don't mind.

I'm wondering if I possibly installed a codec or removed something that's preventing the conversion from happening?

The log file below represents a recording with the script running in test mode. comskip runs as planned but there is no resulting avi file in the end.

Thanks

I am recording HDTV and can hear the audio fine in mpeg format, but when I convert a file using this program it turns into static for a few seconds then nothing. Do you have any suggestions?

Mplayer identified the file as 1080x1920 at 59.833 FPS. 59.833 is a non-standard value. If the file plays fine on your PC, then mencoder is probably mis-identifying the file. Is this the only file that you're having problems with? You can try to convert the file to MPG or you can try a different muxer such as the TS muxer when recording. I've never had much success with mencoder and hi-def dvr-ms files.

That's probably because the script couldn't find a EDL file.

The script is independent of any version of GBPVR.

So you're saying that the script creates a file and when you play that file, it plays a few seconds of static and then stops? I would need the log output, preferably the part that starts mencoder and all the options that are sent.

Here is the script. I think this is what you were asking for. It works fine if I use a program recorded from standard def tv from hauppage wintv, but not my hidef recordings made in gbpvr.

Actually I need the output from the DOS screen when the script is processing the hidef show. Just copy it and paste it here.
