Support for PixelView PlayTV Xtreme GlobalTV

I have added the following in direct.ini for the PixelView PlayTV Xtreme GlobalTV analog tv card:

I copied the above lines from [Conexant BlackBird] section as it was also CX2388x based.

Clicking on the Live TV option just gives a little bleep and then it goes back to the main menu. How can I find out what is going wrong?

Does this device have the required hardware MPEG2 encoder? If not, then it wont work. The specs seem to say "Record TV/video into MPEG 1/2/4" which is usually what software encoder devices say.

If you're sure it has a hardware MPEG2 encoder, then try viewing live tv then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Oh, you mean no software MPEG2 card will work even if I use the InterVideo video decoder for it?

Sorry but thats correct. It needs hardware MPEG2 encoder to work.

There was some plugins in the past developed by other GB-PVR users, that would allow software encoder cards to work but I'm not sure how well these plugins worked, or if they still work these days.
