I currently run a Snazio with Swisscenter in my family room. My kids watch movies throughout the day. I have the set up very easy so baby sitters and family members can get everything working fairly easily (everything is controlled through a harmony 880 remote). The Snazio is set up to go directly to Swisscenter when everything is powered on. This makes it very easy to use. I have been using GBPVR to record OTA for over a year now. I recently purchased a PCH and would like to run GBPVR on it. From what I have read, the process of starting GBPVR seems a bit complicated (not for me, but for baby sitters and grand parents). I would like to turn on the PCH and go directly to GBPVR. Is there a way to simplify the entire process?

There isnt really much we can change about the startup behavior. The PCH starts its on UI, then you have to do a couple of clicks on the remote to start the GB-PVR UI.

Try it though, its not that bad. Personally I'm not very environmentally friendly and I just leave the PCH running, and when I turn on the TV GB-PVR is on the screen.

I configured keys in Web Services that make it work like this

http://www.youtube.com/v/AjafSrsAEHs

I navigate to web services which is always on the left and click the 6 on the remote key and I'm there. Power Off get me back to the PCH

(the demo is old things are faster now)

it does not really make a difference, if you arent using a HDD the PCH only draws about 7 watts max, and that drops a whole 1 watt to 6 watts when you "turn it off" the only way to lower the power consumption any more is to pull the plug. the really environmentally unfriendly thing you are doing is leaving your GB-PVR server running all the time :p

I am guessing there is a way to configure the web services in the setup of PCH. That looks like it would be easy enough. Do you configure the key to point to the http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:7647 of the GBPVR server?

Hmmm, my UPS for the MVP, STB, TV wastes more than that at idle.

heh, my STBs take 23w when running, and a whole 22w when I hit the power button to turn them off (which actually just tells them to output a black frame?!)

No, I have just entered the two cgi command lines from telnet.html. These are bullet proof from a USB or Hard Disk, and from a share as long as you know how to bring the Media Source back to the mvpmc share it is never to bad.
